This year, Indigenous People’s Day is being honored and celebrated in conjunction with the Green Corn Ceremony. Please note: Indigenous People’s Day was previously announced to be celebrated at the Ashram on Monday evening, October 14.
One of the most celebrated ceremonies for the North American continent indigenous people is the Green Corn Ceremony. There will be drumming on the Lenape pow-wow drum, a social dance, a fire purification, and several earth-honorings.
Parking will be available on the service road opposite her home, in her parking lot, and along the sides of the road.
There is boulder and bench seating provided but there is room for participants to set up a few chairs if so desired. If you need a chair, you will need to bring your own.
If you arrive later than 5pm, please do not interrupt the opening prayers with loud conversation. Someone will direct you to a seat so you can slip in.
Hope to see you there!
