Madhuri Lavender

Madhuri’s love of anatomy began in 1971 when she took Anatomy and Kinesiology at the University of Utah as a dance major. That is also when she was first introduced to Yoga and fell in love with how it created joy in her body and mind. Her initial formal studies began with Iyengar-style Hatha Yoga. In 1990 her teacher introduced her to Yogaville and Integral Yoga through Swami Satchidananda and once again she fell in love with the joy of asana combined with meditation. She completed her 200-hour Basic Teacher Training at Yogaville in 2001 and her Intermediate Teacher Training in 2008. She has been teaching anatomy to teacher trainees with Satya Greenstone since 2014. Her approach to teaching combines lecture with self-exploration so that students not only hear the knowledge of anatomy, but learn how it is integrated with asana and pranayama in an experiential way.
